This is a photo of the bed of my truck, taken while standing at the end of the tailgate. It is where the bed floor and the bed inner fenders meet. As you can see there looks to be something between the seams. Maybe sometime of sealer? I am about to blast the bed and use Bed Armor on it. Do I need to replace this "stuff" or will the Bed Armor be enough? If I need to replace it, what is it, where do I get it?
As far as I know it is not welded. One, cuz I can press my fingernail into it so it is kinda soft and two because you can replace it in parts according to LMC that is.
You can buy seam sealer at any autobody supply store. There are different types depending on what you want it to look like when finished. Some is leveling, some will flow, so be sure and ask so that they can suggest the right kind for you.
If it were mine, and I was gonna blast it, I would remove as much of it as possible prior to blasting and replace it after you prime it.
Every seam on that bed has seam sealer. At least inside the bed. The seam running north and south in your pic also needs it. My blaster removed most of the old stuff and what was left I scraped out and replaced.
You wont want flowable,at least in those spots. The stuff I used would literally run out of the seam and end up on the floor. Had to switch to something a little less runny.
