Cleaning the engine

Ok, I had a leak from the lid of my fuel bowl not being tight and I had previous oil leaks, my engine and driveway look like@#!*. What is the best way to clean the engine, I read somewhere on here that they dont like water. Thanks

mean green works good just spray it on the motor let sit rinse off.

if your gonna rinse it off, make sure you cover the alternator and cap, on the power steering res.

make sure to check to see if you have 2 alternators, I cleaned my engine found the second one later, changing a belt.

Don't forget to cover your air filter if you have something like the 6637. Also don't forget to uncover it when done. Leaving it wrapped and starting the engine will end with a filter that looks like a crushed beer can.

Simple Green in concentrated form and low pressure water from a garden hose. Works wonders.

I had the same question a while ago...i went out and got a bunch of toilet brushes and shower scrubbing bubbles and went at it.

I also hosed the crap out of it with a pressure washer without covering anything, and avoided the K+N intake and had no problems
