Decoding Ford 302 Engine Numbers

I am trying to find out some information about the engine that came in my 67 F100 shortbed. The guy I bought the truck from told me it was a 289, but I found out today its a 302! I'm having it overhauled by Todd at Complete Engine Care in Arcata California, and today I went to the shop and got to look over the block and heads.
The numbers on the heads are:
E42
69
C90E

The numbers on the block are:
D4DE-6015-84
6M21
22

I would like to know as much as possible about the engine, especially what model Ford the the block and heads originally came in. The guy i bought it from claimed the engine was probably worth more than the rest of the truck.
Thanks Guys, hope to hear something good!

The D4 block was used at least thru 1977, because it was cast 6M21: December (M) 21, 1976 (6).

The D4DE block was used in Passenger Cars, Econolines, Bronco's and F100/150's.

302 introduced Spring 1968 (Passenger Cars, F100's/Bronco's/Econolines in 1969). 289 discontinued at the end of the 1968 model run.
