Another question about OIL

Just curious to why the oil (Rotella) in my 7.3, when changed at 5M miles is rather clean, but the oil (Motorcraft) in my 6.7, also at 5M miles looks like crude after a short period of time.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I probably missed it.

I am curious about this too. My 6.7 and the 6.4 I used to have are the same way. My Dodge 5.9 CTD is the same way as your 7.3 so I wonder if it has something to do with emissions equipment on later model trucks?

I think it's the EGR which deposits a lot of carbon into the oil.

I take it the cow pee reference is the DEF?
There is no way for DEF to enter the oil under normal operation.

The only way I know how to have DEF in my oil is if I pour it in there or reroute the DEF lines to the oil fill spout or the coolant. (disclaimer: no one try this at home)

I take it, diesel bleeding back into the crankcase is what makes it so cruddy. At least that's what I've been reading in the past hour from other post, assuming I'm understanding it correctly.
