Crazy P2285 occurance

This was a little strange so I'll try and describe it in detail. On a road trip last week, I got a little miss and the truck stuttered a few times runnng about 70mph unloaded down the interstate. I pulled in about 50 miles later and refueled. When I restarted it the engine light came on. I took a quick look under the hood and found one pos battery cable had some corrosion. The last time this happened I cleaned the battery and unplugged my Dr. Performance and it fixed the code. I ran it 400 more miles with the light on until I found a place to check the code. It gave the P2285. I shut it down at the hotel and fired it back up to go eat and the light and code were gone. I did a search on here and was prepared to replace the ICP. I drove it around for 3 days and made the 950 mile trip home with no problems. Plus, it had been leaking from somewhere for about a year. 2 days ago when I got home from the trip I put one of the metal pans from Auto Zone under it and now not a drop of fluid under the truck. Is this strange or has anyone else experienced anything like this? I can understand the code not coming back, but my leak that has the driveway spotted disappearing? Any ideas?

When my icp sensor was going out it would clear randomly like that. It would just come and go. After I replaced it the code stayed off for good. Dont have any advice for ya on the leak.

I just went and scrubbed down the driveway again and backed the truck in. Thats how I normally park it and its always leaked. I put the pan back and it was still clean. I'll check it for a few days and see what happens.

When I bought my 2004 Ford F350, I had problems such as these. It would studder and shut down. The engine light would come on. After a while it would start back up again. I read and read and read and found out it was an ICP sensor problem. So here's the test.

Turn the truck off. Then find the ICP sensor and unplug the cable from the plug...leaving the actual plug still screwed in. Then start the truck up. The computer will run the standard factory reset settings for the injector control pressure sensor (ICP). The truck will probably seem like it takes a second longer to turn over, but it is normal, along with a little darker exhaust.

If you drive the truck for a while, stopping, turning it off, starting it again, and the problem has been resolved, then the ICP sensor was the problem. However, this problem continued after I replaced the sensor twice until I finally figured out it was the cable itself had a burn in it from heating up on metal. So check for this also.

Let me know if this works.

that and the fact the wiring gets oil soaked is why we change both the icp and the connector.

I finally followed up on the ICP code today. After some research on the tech folder, I realized my engine is the newer version with the ICP up front on the passenger valve cover. The ICP is not leaking at all. Here is the problem. I have a Dr. Performance chip that plugs in between the ICP and the pigtail for the ICP. Until today, I didn't know that was the ICP. I thought the ICP was in the rear under the coolant reservoir. After I unplugged it after I got the light, I drove another 900 miles with no more problems. I assume that chip is or was going bad. I plan to toss it and run stock from now on. The bad news is, my oil leak is back and since it is defineately not the ICP, I have a new problem to solve.
