I bought my truck about two months ago. It has a DP Tuner in it (F5), with six slots.
1 - Stock
2 - I think its 80 aggressive
3 - I think its 140 aggressive
4, 5, 6 are empty
I want to send it in to get
1 - Stock
2 - High idle (and make my own EBPV switch)
3 - 60 or 80 econ
4 - 40 tow
5 - 80 race or aggressive
6 - 120 aggressive/smoke (do you specify to Jody that you want extra smoke? It puts out quite a bit as-is right now, but I have to really stomp the gas which I don't really like to do)
I have a stock hpop and I've heard 140 is pointless with the stock hpop.
I dont do much towing (yet) and want to squeeze mileage. My sig describes my current setup, as do my pictures.
How long is the turnaround for sending in to get reprogrammed? What does the truck run like when the chip gets pulled? Does it stay in the setting it was disconnected on, or return to stock, or not run at all?
I've looked around the DP website and havent found much, and I don't want to call Jody from my cube at work and start talking trucks when I have plenty of other stuff I should be doing
Send them an email or call at lunch. They will bend over backwords to help ya.Great folks there and they are a sponsor here.
Good luck with the new truck.
When i talked to James he told me that the 140hp aggresive was also the smoke tune. He said he just adds fuel down low. When it comes to picking between the 60 or 80 economy tune, i would go the 80e and forget about the 60e. 80e is for city driving and 60e is for hwy driving. Ive tested both and the 80e got me almost 1 more mile a gallon in comparison. With the tuner out the truck will just go to stock tune. My .02, hope I could help this time. Spelling better? lol
The F5 will only display the number of tunes you have. You can get up to 16 tunes but lets say you only have 6 tunes it will repeat the number 6-10 more times. 5 Tunes it will show 5-11 times

Spelling checked out okay I do 80% highway driving. I think I'm just going to have to get in touch with the folks at DP to get their advice...so nobody has any idea on how long the turnaround is for the chip? I guess it doesnt matter if it just runs on stock while it's out...I keep it on stock mostly anyway because the knucklehead who had it before me only had two aggressive tunes put in...makes me worry sometimes.
Do you know the name of the person who bought the tuner from DP? Before i bought mine i found one on CL but the guy didnt have a clue what was on it. I got ahold of James and he said the only way to know what tunes were on it was to know the name of the original purchaser. i dont know if thatll help you out but its more info. for ya.

yeah, the guy that i got the truck from put it in...I'm going to just keep the 2 tunes he had on it now that i know i have so many open slots to play with...or do I have to pay for them also? that would kind of suck

You only pay for the tunes and the slots are free.
