fuel filter= junk?
hey guys, here's the truck-1996 f250, 460, e4od, 4x4. I had the fuel filter changed last weekend and watched the guy do it. It came out nasty. upon further inspection the old filter was rattling around like a coffee can with ball bearings in it? After seeing this i had the machanic drop the gas tanks, i figured there has to be some crap in there to cause a paper filter to just disintegrate completely right? Well both tanks looked pretty good for being a 15.yr old truck. After looking at the tanks, i'm gonna take a guess that either a fram fuel filter is junk, it was only 1 year old. i had it installed by a different mechanic, or that gasoline in Ca is highly corrosive to paper element filters.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Now here's the real question. Should i look at the injectors as possible of being clogged after having all that crap from the filter go through them?<o></o>

I have not heard of that before.
What brand filter did you use when replacing it. Hopefully, it wasn't Fram. In my opinion Fram filters of any kind are junk.
If your truck runs good now, I don't think I would take things apart to look at the injectors. It wouldn't hurt though. You could also run some Seafoam or Techron through a couple tanks.
