electric fans

I'm looking for feedback on me putting electric fans in my '91 E350 and doing away with the centrifugal clutch setup. Has anyone done this and if so........any problems? I have a 351 in it. Thanks.

I installed a set of flexalite dual 12" electric fans on my 94 F-250 with a 351 in it. They are great and you can really tell the difference in cooling and performance. The hardest part of the install is removing the old fan. You gain about 6-8" of clearence on the front of the engine. I got mine model #210/220 fans form summit. I think it was around 200 to 250 its worth it. They only problem i have had is that i mounted the thermostat control box to the top of the radiator under the uper rad hose and it burned up. Flexalite is sending me another for free. If you go back a couple days read the post "Flexalite is a great company" you can read the email they sent me. When you get the fans buy more of the appropriate guage wire in black. it will make wireing it easier. They give you a spool of all red wire. I would send you a pic but i have removed them till the new control box shows up. Even in the hotest days the temp guage never went up more than a quarter of the eay up the guage.

I hope this helps with your decision

I did this to my 93 4.9, used a 16" with manual switch. I did notice a minimal gain in pep and fuel mileage. The only time I need to turn on the fan is when idleing for awhile.
