Question Wheel Offset??

I have a 52 F-1 and want to get a set of rims to make my chassis a roller to make room for doing my body work. What size rim and offset would be best for my truck. I have aftermarket "short and smooth springs" from mid-fifty and have upgraded the front brakes to disk. Also I have upgraded to a 1963 Ford 9 inch rear axle. I have no idea what offset to get. I do not want to buy a set of rims to find out they do not fit in the fenders. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Assuming you have a 5x4.5 pattern front and rear most any RWD Ford or Chrysler 15 inch six inch wheel with zero offset will work for a roller. Beyond that width and/or offset it will depend on the width of the rear end and front suspension with the disc brakes (some kits move the rotors out an inch or so).

I have the stock straight axle with the 5-5.5 stock bolt pattern. Sorry I did not include that in my question.

If you just want rollers, keep an eye on craigslist for some plain stock wheels and tires that someone is selling cheap. They come up all the time. I found a set of roller wheels and tires with the 5 1/2" truck pattern I needed for $25. He bought them as rollers for his project years ago and was done with them.

The deals are out there if you're patient, with your eyes open. Stock steel truck wheels are very plentiful.

Your 63 Ford rear is from a truck? That changes things considerably. I'd look for some 15 inch Ford truck wheels for rollers. The 5x5.5 pattern was good until 1996 so a common wheel from the 60s, 70s, or 80s Ford 1/2 ton pickups would probably work fine. Jeeps up to around 83 had the same pattern too. There should be many wheels out there to choose from....
