Haven't done brakes since I owned it. I figure it's time. Just wondering if there are any special tools required? Its an f250 7.5l 4x4 Dana 50 TTB up front. Manual hubs. I wanna change out the rotors too. Heard that was the tricky part.
That link is good for getting the locking hubs off, once you have them off you will need the D50 bearing retainer socket to remove the spindle locknut. You can then slide the hub, rotor and bearings off of the spindle. You then need to press or hammer the lugs out and the rotor will come apart from the hub.
You should be fine with this list:
* lug wrench
* c-clamp
* open end or adjustable wrench (depending on your car)
* Allen wrenches (depending on your car)
* hammer
* small bungee cord
Btw what about brakes, did you find some good quality ones? Recently I talked to a mechanic that specialize in brakes He said that wagner brakes pads are very very good. I though to get with Wagner Brakes next time when changing mine.
