Need Quick Answer.

i went to fix an exhaust leak today, unbolted the flange on the manifold. found it was rusted though

.

ive been planning on putting headers on it anyways. which ones should i go with??? im hoping to order some tonight if i can. any thoughts would be very appreciated. thank you!

I replaced the manifolds on my truck with a set of factory headers from a mustang. The engine is completely stock so I figured I wouldnt get too much out of anything more than that.. The only hiccup I had was the driver side put the pipe close to the slave cylinder. Im going to put some exhaust wrap around it to protect the slave cylinder.

that is a good idea, but im going to build a new motor when i get back from my next deplotment so i figured ill do the whole exhaust not.

Depends. What motor you got and whether or not you have 4wd. Best bet is to search summitracing.com with your particulars then see what people say about those choices.

That makes sense for a new motor. Make sure that whatever you get will clear the slave cylinder if you have a manual.

the truck is an 86 f250 with a 351w and c6 4x4 and dual tanks

is it the heavy duty with dsII and 4 bbl carb? Because if you have an emissions choked 2bbl, headers won't do much good. What is your intended purpose?, budget limits?, do you have to pass emissions?

You say you wanted a quick answer the best way to do that in this forum is by using this wonderful invention called "search" I searched for "header selection" with keyword "exhaust", in small block forum, aftermarket forum, and exhaust forum and came up with these wonderful pertinent threads where this question has been asked before:
