Hi there. I have a 1990 Ford F150 4x4 5 Speed. And its manual lock in hubs. A few weeks ago we go a snow storm and i locked it in 4x4 to get up my hill and it was working just fine before i started up the hill but when i started up the hill i heard a POP. And then the front tires wasnt spinning anymore but it was still locked in 4x4. When i finally got the truck to the house i had to take a pair of pliers to free the hubs. Could anyone help me with my problem please? Thanks
I'd rebuild the hubs or get a new set of Warn's for it. There are other brands out there but I have never had my Warn's fail on me!
Even if it's something more serious like a t-case problem, you can find another one on Craigslist > Cities for around or under $100 usually. Rebuilding them isn't to hard either. Remember to keep your floor shift to tcase linkages well lubbed!
