Insight/Troubleshooting help needed.

Below is the original thread where snakedoc asked for some AE assistance.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...entral-al.html

Yesterday, he and I finally connected and ran AE on his truck to check out his HPOP. I'm not sure where to go from here, so I'm posting the information for others to offer input.

Codes: Nothing significant at all (wiper circuit and other minor stuff).

HPOP performance: Pressure spiked fast on startup indicating good IPR responsiveness, and the duty cycke ran about 15% at idle. On revving the engine in the parking lot, the injection pressure would get up to about 2000 and the duty cycle up to about 25-28%. On the flogged acceleration run on the interstate, the injection pressure got to and held 2800 psi easily enough, and the duty cycle steadily increased with pressure an leveled out at about 40-41%.

Matt will have to chime in to describe his symptoms because he can do so much better than I can.

With the above information on the injection pressure and duty cycle, I know the pressure is ok, but should the duty cycle be climbing higher than 40-41%?

What thinkest thou, more knowledgeable experts?

Subscribing.
Any chance he could swap ICP sensors with his brother's truck for a few days?

Looks good to me Pete. David was at 38% @ 2800 psi on one of the runs we made in stock mode. Was his truck stock when you did the logging?

Not stock, he's running a superchip.

Dan, I don't know if he can swap the components on his brother's truck. Hopefully, he'll check in soon and be able to repond ddirectly. He's a couple hours away from me, and we were only able to run the AE yesterday because he was in town for something else and his availability coincided with mine.

Has he pulled the Superchip and ran it stock to see if there is any changes there?

I don't see why not.

On my flogged runs in 80 econo and 120 race, my DC got up to 61/62%

On my 140 race, it peaked at just over 65%.

That is with Joey's modded 17* and my AC codes. But still, 40% at 2800psi sounds good to me.

We're two hours away from each other now, so no, we didn;t pull it and recheck.

Thanks for the confirmation, Stewart.

Reps to Pete!!! Thanks For the help.i have pulled the SC and it did the same thing on start up. if the problem continues i will swap the icp and see if it helps. but after Pete cleared the codes it has ran better and has started up better than i have ever seen it? but it has been 70 here so when it get cold again i will see if it happens, but i have not had the surging at 2700rpms and better pedal response, more power. could the codes have made it run bad?

I don't think clearing the codes would have helped... might have been the threat of knowing that we were digging into it with AE, and the truck decided the just start running better.
