Egr system
what kinda of negative effect does the egr system have on my truck when it is not in good working condition? the whole system is chopped up and im no its working properly. is it ok to remove it completely and what would i have to do to remove it and still make sure the truck opperates properly. it runs good overall and i just did 99% of the 6 liter tune up. and i also seafoamed it.
its a 92 351 with the e4od. and its 4wd.... any help would be greatly appreciated.

The EGR system will help with fuel mileage to some degree (not much) I would suggest leaving the EGR valve on the intake with a block plate. As for the rest of it it can come out with out any negative effects. Just make sure EGR Valve, Control Sel. and EVP Sensor stay on and you wont get any codes either.

I thought about removing mine, but decided to just leave it be. From what I've been reading, there's not much advantage to removing it. Also my state has visual emissions inspection so I would have to reinstall it every year to pass inspection.

thanks guys, we have pretty leanient inspections up here. as long as everything is tight and exhasut isnt loud its ok...but its a mess under my hood..... the previous owner took a few parts off and just cut things up on his way through.... where can i find a block off plate?
