New Truck

hey guys, I just got my new to me truck yesterday, a Late 99 F- 350 xl single cab long box 4x4 and I need to get a new set of tires for it. I was Just wondering how wide of a tire i can go on the stck 16 inch rim. The tires that are on it now are 265/75 16, and I was wondering if a 285/75 16 or 295/75 16 would fit? Thanks

Congrats on the new truck, a 285 tire will definitely will fit and I'm sure you can go even bigger with a stock rim. Someone will come along and can tell you the exact size cutoff because a problem you will run into is rubbing on the frame and/or wheelwell opening when you lock the wheels side to side.

305's are about the limit, and even then may require trimming for full lock turns. Some go 315's but they look like they are about to pop off the rim to me...

285x75x16's on mine and no rub. Buddy was running 315x?x16 and his would rub the springs on full deflection.
