I figured I would just keep this thread going and show the re-wiring job here. Here is a pic of the new Harness before installation. We are getting hit with a lot of rain at the moment so doubtful I will get to work on it this weekend.
Just on off shoot question for you guys. How do you think a rear bumper from a 1959 Ranchero would look on the back of my 66? hear is a pic of the bumper being considered.
It's just my opinion but I don't think it suits the contours of the truck, unless you have some sort of modifications in mind that would make it blend.

That kit looks nice. I'll be watching your how-to.
Which harness company is that.
I'm just finishing a Painless.
What a beautiful piece they are.
I was actually a little apprehensive about doing an entire new wire job. But after I started it I was amazed how much I enjoyed it.
The Harness I got was from EZ Wiring. It was only one third the cost of a Painless Kit. I had a buddy who builds high end off road rigs look at it and he really liked it. He said about the only difference was the Painless kit uses a little higher quality wire but that this kit was fine for my needs.
So I finally got a day to start on the electrical restoration. Figured I would start with the gauge cluster first and have it done and ready. I got the unit out of the truck and disassembled so I could powdercoat the main housing bucket as well as the auxiliary buckets. Here are a few pics to get things started. After I post this, it's off to the shop to powder.
