ND - could you list the parts needed to rebuild the manual steering box on my 64 F100. A list of current vendors also please. Thanks a million.

Has anyone done this rebuild themselves? Is it pretty easy?

The gearbox uses 90 weight gear oil.

You can use a solvent like kerosene to clean out the gunk.

This is a simple gearbox to rebuild, usually all it needs is the following.

These exact same parts were also used in 1950/60's passenger cars.

The list in post #2 does not include all the necessary parts. I only listed the basics (seal/gasket/bearings/races/bushing) and it's an old list, so some of the sources may no longer have the parts.

Sometimes the basics only need to be replaced to tighten up the box.
