How much is to much

I was wondering how much abuse these rangers can take, Like will Flexing it out all the way hurt the frame and how much jumping/hard hits can they take, I got Some good ball joins, Bilstien front shocks, Skyjacker rear shocks and i got the bigger axles, And iv never bottomed it out befor

I never understand why people purposely abuse a vehicle, but anyway....

Your bump stops should keep the rear axle from hitting the frame directly. But if the stops fail you could serious damage to the axle and/or frame.

The front compressing too far could damage your inner fenderwells. Not only that but it will wear out your springs and bushings faster.

Doesn't matter what kind of shocks you have, abuse will diminish their life in a hurry.

What do you mean bigger axles? Rangers never came with a "big axle" the biggest one is the 8.8 out back.

the ball joints are the weakest point on those trucks (IMHO) and there is no such thing as a "good ball joint" for that truck. Carquest makes a balljoint that has 10 degrees more movement compared to stock which helps but it's only available for 4x4 trucks.

the 4.0 came out with a different axle than the 2.5. My ranger has a 7.5 and I think the 4 came with 8.8

You guys are going about this the wrong way. I say go for it, lets see what its got. It doesn't cost us a dime if you destroy your truck in the name of science. Let her rip. Keep us posted so we all will know what not to do.

Irrelevant, I said the 8.8 was the biggest axle for the Ranger. So no matter what engine he has he doesn't have the "bigger axles"

Dutter, if you are able to flex the body enough, the windshield will crack. I did this once slowly pulling up over a 9 inch curb one wheel at a time.

For my year ranger they come with the dana 25 or 35 i have the bigger axle the 35 even though its the same size as my pops half ton axles, And yeah iv fully flex with out cracking the glass and havent ever had my axles fit the frame even thought the truck gone air born more then once, I was mainly wanting to know what spots do i need to worry about when i do that

The Dana 35 is equivalent to the 7.5. It's not a full size axle.

yeah i know but like his 4x4 hub will fit on my truck with the holes matched but, because the threads do
