I will be pulling a trailer this spring in summer when I finally make it to pick up My Motorcycles in WV and bring them back here to NC.
Obviously I will not be pulling a large trailer, just big enough for 3 bikes, probably an 8x10.. So I feel the bumper and ball should be fine for this, however, may purchase a pop-up camper for summer fun, will this setup be suffecient, or will I need a reciever hitch?
How does this motor handle trailering, obviously its not alot of weight, BUT where I plan on travelling is very steep , im sure alot of downshifting on the tranny due to the smaller motor, Is a cooler in order? Hmm think of it, I havent even looked, maybe it has one? Thanks,
Ron
I have a '98 2wd with the 4.6. I added a hitch and pull a 16'x6'x7.5' V-nose trailer and haul up to 4 motorcycles and gear and passengers to motorcycle races. Once to South Carolina and all over Ohio. It pulls it fine. Wish I had a Power Stroke but.......
I used the bumper with my old 3 rail, it weighs 600# empty, with 3 250# dirt bikes just fine. For $150 and a little time put a reciever hitch on. They all should come with one.
