Problem engaging 4WD system
Hello all, before I get started, just wanted to say this is really an awesome site.
Here is my question, I have a 91 Explorer sport. all of a sudden,as of the last snowstorm, when I press the 4wd button, I would here that little box in the trunk area start to make like a clicking sound,like it is trying to engage.I could litterally press the button 12 times ,and thats all I get , then all of a sudden on say, on the 13th time it would fully engage. There has never been a problem this whole winter, and Believe me, it was used a lot.
I would really appreciate any help on this, as I am new to this truck, and also this board.

Probably a dirty shift motor on the transfer case. Go here http://www.glue.umd.edu/~singletn/exp.html for cleaning instructions.
