My Husband just sucked this mess out of the radiator reservoir tank. What do you guys think this could be? He owns a '02 Ford 350 Powerstroke Diesel. There is not any of this mess on the oil dipstick or under the oil cap. (and yes he sends me, the wifey, to ask! LOL)
Im so sorry i posted in the wrong section. But thank you for moving it! He now thinks that the yellow stuff on top might be diesel fuel. I hope that helps out a little more.
Hey thanks for helping me out this is chad now. Sounds great (not really) so how do I trouble shoot/fix which injector cup it is. Im great with gas motors but don't have a whole lot of diesel know how. I appreciate the help.
I would give Clay (Riffraff diesel) a call. I have a link in my signature. He is a site sponser and has a loaner tool/injectors cups. Good guy to deal with.
Hey guys I appreciate the huge help you have all been. Hopefully i can get this fixed before i deploy to afghanistan coming up real soon. If you have any other "might want to know information" I would welcome it whole heartedly. In the event I will not have the time to do it myself has anyone had this work done at the dealership, and if so what was the approximate cost? Again thank you for the tremendous help.
The only way I can think to know which one has failed is to pull the injectors and inspect each one, Injectors are very easy couple hour job, probably longer your first time around, cups I have not done myself but would not be scared at all to do, and I'm no diesel mechanic either, I just play one on the internet, lol. Dealer will be very pricey, but if you know of a local shop, any mechanic shouldn't be afraid to do it, just print off the R&R Keith posted and take it to them. Good luck and thanks for your service.
Nope on the dealership. You might have a good independent diesel shop in your area. I know I do here in western NC. I know them well enough to trust them a lot more than the local dealerships and their rates are a lot more reasonable.
