New to the site, I got a 2006 F250 6.0, egr delete, new oil cooler, new hpop, new t-stat. truck is still overheating. Temp spikes at idel, settles down we driving but eventually overheats. Had heads pressure tested, results ok. running Superchip tuner, but havent went from stock tune yet. Need help what else needs to be done.
If your EGR valve is unplugged it's very possible your fan isn't operating properly. Try reinstalling the valve and plugging it back in to see if that aleviates your problem. If the EGR cooler is deleted it won't matter as the valve won't get flow. It operates as an electrical path.
Just because your heads passed a pressure test does not mean the gaskets are not leaking. Get a test kit from NAPA or any other parts place and test your degas bottle for exhaust that will tell you if your head gaskets have leaked or are leaking.
Is your truck puking coolant before it overheats or only after it has overheated? What temp is it reaching that makes you think it is overheating?
Not sure why you typed in all caps in response to npccartsman he gave you solid info?
nppartsman is right on the money about putting the valve back in the engine were it belongs. there is a little knowen issue with dtc p0405 and cooling fan operation.
do a search here for "side effect of disconnecting your egr valve"
That thread is from a finding on my truck. Tring to figure out what was up with my fan operation on a slow day.
also overheat at idle is normally a flow issue. check the temps of the upper and lower radiator hoses
