My plan this weekend is to ensure my mixture, idle and timing are set correctly. I know at least my fast idle is high, and I figured it would be a good idea to make sure all of these are set correctly. The problem I have is, where to start. I know some of these adjustments may have an effect on some of the others. So, which do I set first, and in what order do I set them, or am I over thinking this , and I can just set them in any order I feel like?
I'd set the idle speed first, then set the timing using a timing light. If you increase the
timing it will also increase the idle speed a little. Reset if necessary the idle speed after
the timing adjustment and then set the idle mixture. In optimizing the idle mixture it may
also increase the idle speed. Last would be to reset the idle speed again.
