Just picked up a 1978 f150 2wd for $1000. I heard from a few people that if the truck is 30 years of age or older its inspection exept....is this true? I havent done anything with the truck yet, it needs a water pump and i havent tried to license it and ive never owned a truck of this age before so i havent really looked into it.
Call your local courthouse......I'm sure they could answer your question, or at least point you in the right direction. I dont have to worry about inspections or emissions here in Idaho.

Thats probably but ill resort to, just wated to ask the FTE first.
Depends on where your at. Here in portland oregon the magic cut off is actually 35 years. So my 78 still has to go through.
Actually, the first year that needs DEQ testing is 1975. It has been 1975 for the last several years. From what DEQ tells me, it will be 1975 for several more years...they won't budge on it. I have a 75 Ford and still need to take it thru for emissions testing.
Depends completely upon the state you live in. Even the agency of oversight is different from state to state. You'll just have to check around. Just in case you are in MS, the inspection is annual regardless of age of the vehicle.
