hello
last week I had a problem with the Fuel Filter --> Water in Fuel and I hoped that the engine drives normally forward, but now after driving more than 300miles I think the engine have a problem .
Every days morning when I start the Truck the engine is bucking and I hope that she is not shutting down .
Before I will change the oil and diesel filter I need help to find the failure, please.
That bucking you say is probably "romping".. which is kinda normal when it is cold and the truck been sitting over night.. Does it stop the bucking when you put in neutral and give it a little throttle.. Does it run good after all the bucking ? Do you get a Check Engine Light ?
You can probably stops this by switching to a synethetic oil like Shell Rotella T6 5w40.. Great oil and your engine will love it.. you can run it year round..
hi thanks
but I think that´s not the problem , if I drive at the highway over 65-67MPh the Enigne splutter once (shortly to shut down) and drive "normally" forward. And if I stand at the traffic lights the engine shut down and and I restart it then she operates normally forward ? But I think the oil is not the problem that´s the reason why I changed not the filter, but if you say that could being the problem then I will change it. Before I forget it, if I drive slow the engine will splutter very often and its equal if the enigne is hot or cold.
And
No, no Light is on thats also a great problem so I don´t know where should I start
The UVCH is found under the Valve Covers, There is a plug in there that may be coming loose. There is also a 50cent mod that is done to prevent them from coming loose again.
Another super easy, free, check is to unplug the ICP sensor. If it turns out to be bad; note that the truck can be operated normally with this sensor unplugged while you track down a new sensor.
Do you know if your check engine light is working? Maybe you have a light but the bulb is burned out? Do you know the rating of the oil you are using? Are there any aftermarket parts on your truck like a chip, tuner, alarm system, etc.? How hard is it for you to get parts for the truck? If you end up having to order parts from over here, make sure to order a Ford or International CPS (about $25 USD) so you have a good spare over there. A faulty CPS can cause issues like you're describing, but will throw a light after it bucks a few times.
Yes, I know that the Check Engine lamp is working, but I do not know if the lamp note the problem as well I do not know the age from the oil but the amount is enough. Another thing is I do not know if aftermarket parts are used, but I think a chip, tuner are not used but an alarm system could be possible I don´t know that to 100% --> I bought the Truck last year as used from the Netherlands and the owner was not very serious.
To get parts is not very hard, but expensive (as example an Fuel Filter costs at rockauto.com 12$ and here at Germany 70€) so I Import the most things and that cost taxes.
Your fuel injectors run off of engine oil, so clean, fresh oil of the proper grade is vital to a smooth running engine. If you've had the truck for a year or more and never changed the oil, I'd start there. Improper or worn out oil can foam and cause the injectors to not function properly.
