I'm getting a code 52- power steering pressure sensor staying either open or closed all the time. Any good way to test the sensor or just replace?? With the ohm meter I'm getting fairly high resistance. Does the sensor operate as totally open/closed or is does it have variable resistance. Can this be the reason I can't enter KOER.
The reason I asked about the KOER was that I was thinking that the procedure for entering KOER was to turn the steering wheel a half turn after the engine designation flash series. I stomped on the brake pedal also. I was assuming that the EEC was looking for that switch make/break and if the switch was faulty then it wouldn't see this. I'm getting the engine flash series (4 on my app) then nothing. Shouldn't I at least see a 1-1 if no codes are stored in this portion of the test? Is the EEC reading a different sensor when the steering wheel is turned?

I'm using Chilton's. I think it said that models utilizing the power steering pressure switch (which mine has), then the steering wheel had to be turned at least 1/2 turn within 2 seconds after the engine designation code flashes. If I remember right, if it didn't have this switch then stomping on the brake pedal would activate the test. I did both to have all the bases covered. I've got a new switch on order.
