I just purchased 2000 motorhome with a v10 engine. It has 600 miles on the original motor. I new there would be some issues and Boy, was i right. It ran light crap so As soon as I got it home I drained the tank and filled with fresh 91 oct. I blew out fuel lines with compressed air and solvent, changed the fuel filter, replaced the fuel rail , cleaned the injectors . I also flushed the oil and replaced with motorcraft filter, changed coolant. air cleaner bla, bla, bla. still ran like crap. removed valve covers, found two followers off and valves bent. must have been before I got it. found goopy brown crap throughout the whole top end. Sent the heads in and had a valve job cosisting of new guides, seals and seats. cleaned everything and reassembled. ran great , fired up nice , no codes, no miss, no smoke , just water out the tailpipe, clean water.Drove it 100 miles and parked it. next morning went to start it , it hung an intake open ,and lost a follower. replaced the lash adjuster with new , reassembled. ran fine . 25 miles. next morning fired it up and the starter was laboring and it hung 6 valves open and bent a few. after pulling everything back off and getting harrassed by the city for parking ect., I found that all the cylinders, intake runners, intake manifold and valves have a sticky goo all over them. I dont know if its a byproduct of the valves damage or the cause of the sticky valves. Afraid to put it back together and have it again. I have felpro viton seals and the heads are stock except for the new guides which are bronze in color, the removed ones looked like black chrome. where is this goo coming from?Help!!!!
