56 F-100 Front Spring Perch Bushings??
Hi all, I'm rebuilding my front end and replacing bushings (and other stuff).
I know the front bushing where the hangar atttaches to is called the perch (bushing):
But this I'm told is not a bushing (frame perch?):
Is that true? The insert I see is not a bushing, but just a steel insert that doesn't wear out?
By the way, what's this rear (front end) spring perch called?
Thanks, Joe

Perch, hanger, shackel
I just changed to springs in my 1952 F-1 with “Posies” Supersliders. If you are not planning on using your truck as a truck, I suggest you try a set of Posies. The ride is greatly improved and quieter too. Anyway, I had a very badly worn rear hanger or perch, the eye had become a oval slot for the spring to slide back and forth . I had to cut the perch off and find a new one. Yours looks fine, these old guys were not built to be Swiss watches, so they built them with heavy duty stuff that stands up. If it looks good it is! Just replace all the spring eye pins and grease them well and you are good to go. The front hangers are shackles and the rears are perches, if you ask me. Good luck.

Did you change both front and rear springs? How much did the change lower your truck? Is there still plenty of suspension travel in the front? Their website says the front will drop about 2", but there isn't much more clearance between the axle and bump stop in the stock configuration. Any issues with bump steer or angled drag link? Sorry for all the questions, but it's always good to get reviews from actual users.
Thanks.

Posies
Your ride height will probably stay the same. Mine did. The reason for this is that your springs have collapsed. More than likely they are straight. If you look at F-1s on ebay and look at the underside shots most of the leaf springs are straight no arc to them. The Supersliders are lower, but have an arc to them. You will have a softer ride with more spring to bumper clearance. I changed the rear first and was so pleased with the results, I did the front too.
