Last week my brother bought a 1993 F150 Flare side and has been working on some small problem so that he can drive it but we ran into a problem today. The differential was leaking so we got a new gasket and oil but we can't get the fill plug out.We have tried everything and accidentally rounded out the plug.So instead of making it worse we have been trying to find a new cover that has a fill plug but all the ones we found are out of his price range right now so we found this one for $33 but it doesn't specifically say if it fits the Ford 8.8.Racing Power CHROME PLATED DIFFERENTIAL COVER - JCWhitney
It has three options Chrome differential cover,Chrome differential cover Dana 44,10 bolt and Chrome differential cover Dana 60 10 bolt.So would the first option be the one for the Ford 8.8.
Thanks a lot I was look for something just like this.I already have to pan off so drilling the hole won't be a problem, plus it is cheaper than any pan with one pre- installed.
Can you get some craftsman bolt off style removes on it? Might work to remove it as a last ditch effort. They will get it off, I would remove all the oil as best you can, and let dry. Then add some heat to help ya get it off.
