C6 Leaks - Not Pan?

Ok, what on the C6 is prone to leak and run down onto the pan, thereby making it look like the pan is leaking?

I've replaced the pan gasket twice, and I was very careful the first time and extremely careful the 2nd time. Both times I straightened the pan, especially at the bolt holes, and the 2nd time I used a straightedge to ensure it was flat and had no dings or gouges. The first time I followed the instructions on the box and used grease on the gasket. The second time I used Permatex gasket sealer. And in both instances I torqued the bolts to the spec shown in the FSM. But, in both cases the tranny drips sitting in the shop w/o being driven.

Yes, I will certainly completely clean the case above the gasket and watch to see if there's anything leaking down onto the pan. But, I was wondering if anyone knows of something that is known to do this.

What area does the drip come from? That will help narrow down the possibilities....

The drip is from the lowest corner of the pan, which is the right front corner. But, the gasket is wet the whole way around, which could easily be just due to it either running down the side of the case and hitting the gasket/pan, or coming out past the gasket.

I have the tranny pretty clean, but not quite clean enough to tell if it is running down the side. Will do that tomorrow. But, the leak SEEMS to be the same as before I pulled the pan and replaced the gasket - although how do you quantify a leak? Anyway, if so that strongly suggests the leak is elsewhere.

I thought mine was leaking but it was just the valve cover and oil pan gaskets allowing engine oil to make it's way down the the transmission.

I tightened the pan gaskets on the trans, engine and replaced the valve cover gaskets and it seems to be fine now.
