Recall notices

The recall letters are in the mail. This one is for the spring under the door handle.
Got one for the 2009 F-150. Waiting for the letter on the 2010 F-150.
Now, the wait on the parts begins.

Yes, if it's grouped in the recalled vehicles. There were something like 268,000 2009-2010 models that were recalled for door latch springs. The doors are coming open during a collision.

Wait a second. The heck with the recall; when did you become a moderator? I just noticed your fancy red username. I must have missed the memo. Good for you, Tim.

Recall

Had my 09 F150 SuperCrew at the dealer last friday as my lease was up and I needed a cert for the buyout. The dealer mentioned the recall and said they would order parts and set a date for repair in order to get cert done. As I was just about to pay for the service they decided to inspect the door handles to see if recall was necessary. The tech just pulled on the handles and said no further work was needed?? Not to pleased with this type of inspection but I just wanted to get the paper work done. Anyone else have the dealer inspect and not change springs? The test seems quite subjective?

Thanks so much Brad! I was brought on board last week, still in training and such but I'm deeply honored non the less.

Got mine but I figure it's a safety feature built in to the trucks. After the collision the door flies open so you can get out of the burning truck or to shoot the idiot who just hit you. Just kidding. At least Ford finds a problem and fixes it not like some companies that sell rice burners. Chris
