trucks down agian

well truck has been running great lately without any problems untill yesterday went to pick up a load of hay backed up to the barn think we loaded 2 bales before i heard a big tink sound followed by a nasty squeal, ran and cut her off real quick and popped the hood, saw a shredded serpentine so i figured ahh thats not to bad, then i look and what shredded it was the idler pulley blowing off, looked under the truck for the pully and it wasnt there, but there was a steady drip of coolant, look inside the shroud and there was the pully sitting right under a perfect half moon shaped hole in the radiator i just put in the beginning of September, worst part is what i got towed home by, a 95 F350 with a 460...

Ya know after all the pulleys we trashed in just one year on my wifes truck I now take the belt off every oi change and check all of them. If they feel the least bit gritty or loose I put a new one on. We're on the road way too much to be getting towed home.

yeah i was worried about the trailer, old farm use trailer but it was the only one my truck would fit on that we could use. just kept it under 35 the whole way, i tell ya though that truck was struggling getting across Pungo ferry bridge.

yeah im gonna start checking them often from now on, im glad it happened at the farm though and not halfway home, and getting stuck on the side of the road
