ok guys i normally hang out in the 94-97.5 diesel section since i thats what i drive. my dream truck is a 70's model highboy so make me jealous lets see your rides.
Oldest picture from when i first got it and my dad was working on it for me (i was in the country at the time)...2nd picture is one i took a few weeks ago after putting a silver grill inserts on it.
I apologize for the wierd look in the first picture, my brother was messing with the camera and I didnt know how to un-mess with it. If ya want to see more highboys, i have a few saved up on my computer i could email ya.
Check youre email. Youre truck is pretty nice too man, you should put some pictures up in an album or gallery so we can all enjoy it. My dad had a 78 crew with that same paint job when i was growing up, so im real partial to ford trucks in that scheme.
PS- my truck is 2 different colors, so its not that good looking. Its hard to tell cause of whatever setting the stupid camera was in.
Great looking truck ^^^^
Here's mine
She's dirty in these and was in the middle of putting different side mirrors on. That will be one heck of a front bumper when I'm done with it. Like the old ranchhand extended bumpers they dont make anymore.
I never turn down an offer to show it off!
What wheel size ya running? Howd you get your truck level?
Those are 315/75/16 Goodyear MT/Rs on 16x10 wheels. As far as the leveling, that was how it sat when I got it. All the suspension is stock, with overloads on the back.
Yeah there was a thread a while back about the travel up front from leaf to bumpstop and mine seemed to be a higher than most at 3 3/4" of travel. Lots of guys were getting 2 1/2 to 3". If anything my right rear is sagging about 1". The 6th leaf from the top is broke (9lf pck), there's about 60% of it in there right now. I do like the 315/75 size, I'm thinking of going to 36x12.5 TSL radials on the next go round though. Sorry for the highjack!
you guys suck. i love the trucks. i saw one for sale today but it wasnt an f250 and thats what i want with a 460 i would take a 351 though i had a 90 with a 351W and that was a running motor now. thanks for the pics making me smile and ruining my day all at the same time.
thanks for the email longtravel you just keep ruining my day lol nice rides for sure. i will try to get pics of mine up but its not nearly as cool as ya'lls i like the early 90's body style but not as much as the highboy body style. i bought this one for the motor 97 7.3 is tough to beat. i got it to haul my mud truck and haul deer out during hunting season i should have enough truck for that lol.

You should know that through 76 the highboys came with a 360FE engine. Then in 77, no more FE, you would have 351m/400. Personally I'd take an FE over a 335series anyday. You'll have to swap a 460 in there if you want it. For about the cost of a swap in a pre 77, you could turn that 360 into a 390. Easy swap, just find a 390 crank and rods, keep the 360 flat top pistons and it'll give you 9.5:1 CR and plenty of power! Just my 2cents.
ok i made an album you can check it out if you want to see, but be warned its not a cool highboy. 3 inch body lift is going on soon already have it just waiting for better weather spring packs going in the front for another 1/2 inch of lift on the suspension and new body mounts when i do the body lift. then the body work is getting done and getting painted smoke grey with black decals. going to make custom bumpers front and rear when the body lift gets done to take up the gap and hold a winch on the front. i got some work to do lol
