Some of those screws come with the Loctite already installed, but apparently this one didn't.

I will probably take part of the day off today to go home and put a new motor in the A/C unit for the squirrel cage fan. It's supposed to get pretty warm today and I don't want the kids or Julie to suffer too much.

Its done, it was 89 in the house when I got home today after work. I came home earlier to try to put it together but I ran into a few small problems. The heater motor I took out was a 4 speed, but this new one is a three speed. I had to figure out how to wire it differently. Its running now and its dropped down to 84, and already starting to feel better. must take a lot of time to cool down a house this size, because its been running about an hour and only dropped 5 degrees. Its one of those high efficiency units, so I am thinking it may take multiple cycles of the air to cool it down good. That or we have a new issue.

Well, it finally cooled down in the house, but I am sure it helps that it cooled down more outside then inside. I had given the A/C a break, because it had been running for 5 hours, so I turned the A/C up to 75. Then just before going to bed I set it to 73, typically I like to set it at 71 at night. It was 64 out this morning, and I still heard the A/C running. I am guessing the items in the house that heated up, were still emitting heat from them as the house cooled off.

Good work! Your story reminds me of when the main fan motor died at our old place. It was well over 90 inside the house for a couple of days since I had to search all over the place for a replacement. Didn't help that the A\C was originally installed the year I was born, kinda hard to find parts when the system is that old
