i must say it is not a good feeling when you hear a POP then you loose power- i drove around a little - black smoke rolling out - heard turbo whine - still thought turbo snapped a shaft- had been working on replacing back pressure sensor so had intercooler tube off - well let's say when you suck just air - no power- put back on - tighten all clamps - back to normal
cleaning back pressure tube and change of back pressure sensor made a big diff -

I've blown it off three times now, and it scares the crap out of me every time. First time it happened I almost started crying - I was sure I'd blown the engine or something. I always carry the wrenches around with me to put it back on for a few weeks after I've worked on it.
what started it all is that i keep getting intermittent battery light - sometimes stays on then goes out - sometimes all the time - sometimes never
well the serpentene belt looked old - shroud was fun to get loose-so i went the cheaper route- with just belt but i cleaned tube and changed back pressure sensor while i was there - i know no rythm or reason
i did think it would help with the 5th gear shift and so jerking at low rpm - like 1700 - kicks into 5th - like to high of gear - even with all of above still have intermittent bat light and like slippage in 5th - just something you feel in seat not steering
the altnerator may have a loose internal something
