You don't say if 2 or 4 wheel drive or what engine and transmission you have. The 1988 single cab long bed in my signature would weigh in right at 4500 lbs. if i took everything but the spare tire out of it.
does anybody know how much a 1989 single cab f150 long bed weighs
It varies with the amount of equipment that your paticular truck is equipped with. Without weighing your paticular truck, all anyone on here can give you is a "right around" tare weight.
Big things like 4wd make a fairly substanial difference, but smaller items like power door locks increase the tare weight as well.
My old 86 F150 Super Cab 302/AOD 4wd XL with convience package weighed in very close to the 5000 lb mark. My 1990 F250 regular cab 460/E4OD 2wd Lariet is closer to the 4800 range.
That will be the GVWR, not the actual unloaded weight of the truck.
Last time I weighed my '95 5.0L F150 4x4, it was just over 5200 lbs, but it's lifted, has a toolbox full of tools, a spare tire in the bed, and a really heavy front winch/bumper.
well that's what I said to scale operator , towed a 87 F350 with a flat bed (10') no engine or tranny and it weighed right at 5000 lbs , got paid $500 for it ! who knows if the scales were calibrated or not ??
