I think newer vehicles are hideously overpriced pieces of plastic.
But that's just me...
I wouldn't want to own a Super-Duty (or as I call 'em, Stupid Dutys) cause the California Smog ***** have made anything Diesel with a GVW of 14K or lower have to be smogged. (or as I understood it, at least...)

Holy Moly, 5 yrs already.
Only Sean would have dug up this thread.
Yep, have enjoyed my truck every time I've cranked her up. Well, almost every time.
After 2 turbo unison ring repairs, 3 injectors, and 4 batteries, I can't imagine towing without it.
Pop was kind enough to give me a coolant filter shortly after we picked it up and I think it's really helped keep my temps in check. Just changed out my tranny fluid a few weeks back.
Two trips to Minnesota the last two years and maybe a third this year. A great traveling truck.
A neighbor is looking to buy a used 2005 here locally and they want 20k.
These trucks really do hold there value. I suggested that when he's ready to buy, inform the owner that we'll bring down my Dashboss and running the diagnostics before any purchase. No surprises here!

Well that was a nice blast from the past. None of us have to "worry" about warranty anymore. We're officially owners, weaned off the dealer nipple, and responsible for what goes right and what goes wrong.
I still love my old '06 x 6'0. Turned over 114k just yesterday as I pulled into the fuel station. She mostly gets neglected these days. Just use it for travel and have done too little of that over the last couple of years. Oh, I keep up the maintenance, but there isn't much to do based on miles. This summer I need to change the coolant, which I do every 2 years regardless of mileage. I've run the Zerex equivalent of Gold for the last 2 intervals. Think I might spring for some ELC this time, since I'm off that nipple.
We're headed for the Sierra's tomorrow for the holiday weekend, so she'll get some overdue exercise. Anyone else got travel plans for the holiday?

Really shiny! Looks great.
I had a trailer with that kind of window right next to the door. That lower part of the window cranks out, correct? If the wind catches that door it can slam open and destroy that window. On mine, the hinges were on the other side, which made it a suicide door (catching the slipstream), but it could no longer crash the window. On earlier model years, they had a lot of broken windows and made a change.

You can see the mark in the middle of the door on the orange decal when the window was too far open. How funny as many probably wouldn't notice that unless they experienced it.
Yep, bad design.

Bad design. I've often wondered if the people who design these things have ever actually been camping in an RV. Because anyone who has, has unexpectedly opened their door in the morning, and had the wind grab it and slam it open hard.
