rear axle help

i have a 1998 ford f150 xlt 4x4 and im trying to figure out what size my rear axle isand the gear ratio, anyone know where to find all this info

its also on a tag on the rear differential, all the tags I have seen have been bolted on the rear differential cover. It should tell you on the tag. Also the door jam will have an axle code. It should tell you what rear end you have.

If it's a 4.6 you have an 8.8 rear and the 5.4 has a 9.75 rear.
For the gear ratio,,you'll need to look at the tag on the rear or the door sticker.
