I have found a 477 in an international truck what model truck did this motor belong to. It is still in good cond and I have the opurtunity to aquire it for a song.
I don't know a lot about these engines other than the 534 was in the same family. They are a higher torque, lower rpm engine used in heavy trucks and irrigation units. We had a 534 in a C900 Ford / Boardman pumper at our fire dept. They are good for continuous operation. They are too big and heavy for a 1/2 ton pickup and aren't a performance type engine. Hi Mike
I have found one in a paddock and the farmer says he drove it there and dumped it
. Apparently it is still in running order. If I offered him a case of beer I would probably get it but I don't know what good it would be. It's huge and would take up valuable space in my work shop. I would like to tackle a F series truck say 55 or 56 era. But if it's no good for that I will leave it there. Thanks for the info.
