Door maintaince- noob question
I know this is basic but:
1) what type of lube is bet for the door internal? Like the pivot points of the metal rods and the latch mechanism? Mine has some have dirt on it too. Where does wd-40, engine oil, and lithium grease all fit in? Do I spray down with wd-40 to clean than grease? I also have chassis grease on hand.
2) With the door panel off I also saw there is surface rust/scale forming in the door. What is best to do there as the door doesn't come apart? Just spray oil on it or should I try and paint part of it with por-15 or rust converter from the hardware store?

white lithium works best in these areas. wd40 or engine oil will merely run off wheras the spray lithium gets into hard to reach areas and stays put. as to the rust i would clean up the scale or surface rust best as i could reach by hand and treat with rust converter
