Man that is the reason I moved. My neighborhood has gone to pot. The kids from when I moved there in 93 are all living at home still & have their own kids now. My neighbors are the laziest bunch of no working bums I ever met. They sell drugs & wander the streets all day & night. I don't want them working on my house. The guy across the street from me lost his house about 16 months ago. He gives my advice on what to do with my house every time I see him. He is dodging the repo man & giving financial advice. Most of my close friends have moved for the same reason I did. I stayed too long. I'll lose my tail on my house. At least its paid off. If you do construction as long as I have you learn ways to work alone. I installed the siding on a 34 ft wide gable in 8 hours. Its a one story with a 6/12 pitch.

It was great when I moved in. Over the years about 40% of the homes became rentals. The place went to pot without homeowners. By doing all the work on my home I saved 10k in labor cost. I bought my paint off Craigslist & painted the house inside & 0ut for $200 in paint cost. The paint I bought cost almost $200 for a 5 gallon bucket. It was top grade paint with the primer in it. We found our appliances used too. 4 year old stuff that looks new. I saved $900 on the stove alone. I have a French door unit to replace the old sliding patio door. I have nothing in it at all. I got it all from parts I replaced on homes. I do warranty work on windows & doors. I have 2 glass inserts for the doors with blinds in between the panes that also are the highest energy rating Jeld Wen doors offers. I have 2 wooden 12 light doors with single pane glass that I will install the inserts in. I got them by hauling them off for a customer. A built to fit replacement unit like the one I'm building runs $1500 & up. Its taken longer this way but I've saved a ton & no one looking at the house will know what my material cost.

I designed and built the house in 2000, ordered the 18'x36' pool online in a kit and installed it in 2003. I am a home builder by trade but had never put a pool in before. I had three pools contractors give us bids that ranged from 46-54K so I figured it was a good time to learn how to install a pool.
Here is one from a few years back, notice the pool side shade area, I had two of these cheesy ones blow away until I build the solid one in the first picture.
The front of the house with the bracket racer and trailer in the way
Not finding any pics of the out door bar or the NHRA themed basement.

Thanks, it has been a 12 year labor of love. The bummer is now at 12 years the maintainance is starting and things need to be redone after having two boys and lots of dogs there is a lot of wear and tear. The mustang goes out in two weeks for the first bracket race.
Stop on by whenever, we built the place to entertain friends and guests.
Here is the front of the house.
The pole shed, I built this while the house foundation was going in so we would have some storage and a place to chill out.
And the bud, racing themed basement bar.
