'97 460 block question
I'm looking at getting a '97 460 complete motor for my stroker build I'm doing, that should be a D9TE block. I plan on stripping everything off and out of this engine and replacing it with all new parts. I am looking at using Edelbrock Cobra Jet Heads, and an Edelbrock Manifold, Cam, Carb kit. When I look up these Edelbrock parts it says they are only for 68-87 460's. Now I'm assuming that just means they won't work with all the other EFI stuff on the 88 and newer engines, but is there something different about a '97 block that won't allow me to use these parts? Or is there anything different about the block at all? I'm pretty sure it does have slightly longer cylinder walls after '79 so it must be externally balanced, but that's all I know. Any help? Thanks.
so you should be good with that block to build a stroker out of.
