'97 460 block question

Hey guys, hope someone can give me a little help here.

I'm looking at getting a '97 460 complete motor for my stroker build I'm doing, that should be a D9TE block. I plan on stripping everything off and out of this engine and replacing it with all new parts. I am looking at using Edelbrock Cobra Jet Heads, and an Edelbrock Manifold, Cam, Carb kit. When I look up these Edelbrock parts it says they are only for 68-87 460's. Now I'm assuming that just means they won't work with all the other EFI stuff on the 88 and newer engines, but is there something different about a '97 block that won't allow me to use these parts? Or is there anything different about the block at all? I'm pretty sure it does have slightly longer cylinder walls after '79 so it must be externally balanced, but that's all I know. Any help? Thanks.

as far as i know the block it self never changed and is the same D9TE block that came out in 79 and used till the end of production. 87 is when they went to efi and different heads and manifolds. the efi manifolds won't fit on the carb heads ad the carb manifolds won't fit the efi heads.

so you should be good with that block to build a stroker out of.
