Question AWD

I want to make my 88 f-150 AWD by using the awd tcase from a 5.0 explorer

So my questions are would I need 4 wheel ABS or will the rabs system I have be good enough and not mess anything up

Also will the awd tcase bolt up to all ford 4x4 transmissions

And with the ttb suspension there is the option of auto and manual locking hubs.... can I still use those and have the option of 2wd and not hurt anything?

I think that's all my questions for now

I dont think that the ABS system will be affected at all.

I terms of the hubs, if you have autos they will always be engaged. If hey are manuals then you can unlock them and run the t-case in 4wd(not AWD) so the front drivetrain will still turn.

As for the bolting up, i dont know if a explorer t-case will fit. You could find a full-time/AWD np203 out of a 70's fullsize, that would bolt right up.

:/ well I was just looking to do something different like have an awd truck since as far as I know there wasn't one made in 88 :P

Plus since my truck as it sits now is 2wd and for me to do a regular 4x4 conversion I would have to cut a hole in the floor because its solid... of course I could use the electronic shifting tcases and use toggles or a small dial selector like the explorers...

:-d ill do more investigating when I get home Saturday evening
