Hey Sweetsby,
It's going to be a tough find out east Mate, only thing I can tell you is
to keep your eyes on craigslist.org for a bed/parts truck, as well as hitting the
wrecking yards in your greater area. Out here in Southern California, I must
see 5 or six good truck beds a week in the wrecking yards.
I guess, if you were serious, and didn't mind spending the money, you could freight
one back east. Beds go for around 200-300$ and goodness knows what for freight.
Arizona also has a lot of good trucks....any further east and you're into snow and salt.
Try whitesautosalvage.com in NC not too far from me. There is also a guy in the Rochester, NY area who brings up Southern Parts (Tim 585-414-5987). We have a real nice 8' bed of son's 70 not sure what we're going to do with it yet.
Sweets, That is something that require a lot of looking. I would run a want ad on Craigslist, keep an eye out in folks back yards.
Give yourself a year of serous searching, it could take that long, but I'll bet you can find one. Go to local car shows talk to peeps, many times those folks know where parts can be found.
One will likely not fall out of the sky in front of you.
There's been a few made into trailers also. I ran across a bumpside trailer about 10 years ago. Farmer wouldn't sell, even offered another trailer. It was real nice but, keeping hay in the back of it for 10 yrs has taken its toll.
