waste gate codes 7.3
2000 F350 83,000 miles on 7.3 50,000 on ford installed motor
went airboatin yesterday...backin boat in at house last night idling backward and the motor went from running as normal to sounding like it was running on 2 cylinders. I have a hypertech programmer that has been on this motor shortly after the motor was installed (original motor only had 33,000 miles on it when I got it from a retired guy.. he never drove it and an injector locked up and threw a rod through the bottom of the oil pan) and the muffler is removed and I have an air intake upgrade as well...next is a new down tube.. however... i had 4 codes come up last n ight in my diagnostic reader
P1249 Waste gate Fail Steady State Test
P1316 Injector Circuit/IDM Codes Detected
P1211 ICP Not Controllable - Pressure Abow/Below Desired
PO541 Manifold Intake Air Heater
someone told me it is probably the Fuel Injection Control Module

If you clear these codes, do they come back?
If the change happened suddenly at idle, the wastegate and air intake heater codes are probably not relevant.
You might want to check the harness as it crosses the driver's side valve cover. They are known to chafe.
