Header advice: Sanderson vs. Long-tubes

My 400 build is getting closer to completion by TMI. Went with Aussie 302C heads. 79 F-150, 2WD, C6.

Trying to figure out what headers I want/need. Looks like the choices are (among others):

Full-length
Hedman 89266 - $490ish from Summit (reducers included)
Hooker 6914-1HKR - $420ish from Summit (reducers extra)

Shorty/Block-hugger
Sanderson FC3 - $450ish from Century Performance Center (reducers extra, needs 2V adapter, also extra)

Anyone got experience with installing any of these "final 3?" I don't want to have to mod anything in order to install 'em. The Hooker instructions say I'd have to re-route the trans lines, so I ain't liking that. With the Hedmans also being full-length, I'd imagine they'd have the same problem, or obscure the starter, something. So I'm now leaning towards the Sanderson shorties.

I read on here somewhere that 4v headers (like the sandersons) would work with the aussie 2v heads 'cause of the extra material or something like that. But I thought Sanderson's 2v adapter was to match up the header's larger 4v ports to the smaller 2v ports on the head. The aussie heads have the smaller 2v ports, so...

Also, I'm planning on installing the headers on the engine before I drop it in the cradle, if that matters.

In summary:
  1. Any one ever put these Hedmans or Hookers on their ride? How easy is the install? Do they obscure the OE starter?
  2. Are the Sandersons a easier install or better fit than the long-tube headers?
  3. Do I need the copper 2V adapter for the Sanderson FC3 shorties since I'm running aussie 302C heads? I would think so...
  4. Final recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
