There is something wrong with your Sync all right because my wife's Driod works fine with my truck and her new Fusion. Maybe another dealership service dept. should look at it. My friend that is a serviceman at the dealer I always go to has extensive training with the Sync system. He says it's not an easy system to mess with unless one knows what they are doing.
Sync is by far the most user friendly and advanced system that is offered OEM that I've seen. Much more advanced then the ones that are offered on some high end vehicles.
If a user can't get it to work then more often then not it's something to do on the user end. There are a few times when something is bad right off the bat or goes bad soon after, but this system is damn good.
This is coming from someone that typically does their first mod as changing out the radio as soon as they get their truck, no matter if it already has a "premium" sound system in it.
Ok, once again, this thread has been edited. Out of all of the post, 6 have any relevance to the original post. Most of the discussion was civil but had nothing to do with the sync problems.
Mongoo, I don't type the best either so I would suggest you do like I do and use the Firefox browser. It has a built in spell check that will underline all misspelled words and you can left click on them and it will give you correct spellings to choose from. It works great and makes me look like I can type better than I can. I can spell fine, but my typing skills are mediocre at best. Mostly correct spelling makes it easier to comprehend what you are trying to say.
I am not bashing you in any way, just trying to make your experience here a bit more pleasant.
As for the rest of ya, lets try to keep this tech section just that. Tech. I don't want to treat everyone like children.
If there is a problem with a certain member, deal with it in pm's with them or a moderator and we will do what we can to resolve the issue.
As we say in the computer business, sometimes the problem is between the keyboard and the seat.
It's obviously an interface problem.
PEBKAC? as a programmer i do have to say that seems like quite a reasonable assessment to me...
I'm not saying that software is ever perfect but, they do usually at least TRY to get the big bugs out before release. Of course this doesn't mean that the design of the interface is going to be anything too wonderful (my g/f's '11 Subaru Outback Sport has a bluetooth setup that works GREAT... IF you can manage to muddle your way thru the tangled web of menus and instructions...). Never having dealt with sync on one of these trucks yet I can't say for sure what percentage of the problems that people are having is due more to the interface than the actual software itself but, my gut tells me that users who didn't bother to RTFM and/or users who couldn't follow what the manual was telling them to do probably accounts for a many of the reported problems (with the balance being the actual software/hardware glitches). Oh, and don't blame me for those wonky interface's, that was what design and/or marketing wanted so that was what they got.
