Question regarding cleaning engine

I am now ready to clean the 351W to go into the 1951 F1. This engine has about 1/4 inch of grease, sludge and dirt and has a few oil leaks obviously. Before I start replacing seals and gaskets and prior to paint, does anyone know of a good solution to disolve all the grime.? Gunk used to be OK, but anything else that works?

I used engine degreaser from GUNK got it from Advanced Auto always worked for me just don't use it in a closed area it will also leave a fuel smell on clothes.

Check with a local detail company... Sometimes they will sell you some of their degreaser. I did it a few years ago and got a gallon. That stuff was great... It's about time for me to get some more...
