I am trying to find out what is the best company and what upgrades to do to my truck to make it a better all around performer as a daily driver and when towing my Mustang in an enclosed trailer.
My truck is a 2000 F250 7.3L Crew Cab Short bed.
I have been told that ATS Diesel is the way to go. Get their Aurora 3000 Turbo kit along with their 4" exhaust, tuner, cold air intake and intercooler.
Anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

Myself personally I have an AFE cold air intake, 4" straight piped exhaust, and a DP tuner for performance. Still running stock everything else for now. I have a few boxes of parts around to put on when the weather warms up a bit. I tow a 28ft enclosed trailer with my race truck inside and it weighs right around 11,000 lbs with all the tool boxes and spares ect.
Alot of the guys on here go with a 6637 air cleaner for more air and very reasonable price wise. Most upgrade to a bigger exhaust. Gauges (boost, pyro, trans temp for automatics) are a definate must before the performance upgrades for safety. There are several Custom tuners out there such as Dp tuner (which I use), PHP, Tony Wildman and others.
One suggestion is to upgrade (direct bolt in for your stock location) the trans cooler if you have an automatic to a 6.0 trans cooler either 26 or 31 row. From what Mark K. has said the 26 row is just as efficent so no need to spend another 100 clams for the 31 row. Or a tru-cool max which is cheaper but better then what you have stock.
Get a hold of Clay at Riff Raff Diesel and he can set you up or answer any questions you have. Parts guy Ed is a great source for any OEM parts. Bob at Diesel o rings .com is also a good resource for parts and knowledge. Hopefully others will add to the list as well.
Definately! Clay is top notch in customer service, price and parts innovation. He personally delivered my DP Tuner to me while he was near my town on a business meeting just to save me shipping. Cant beat that kind of customer service with a stick. Then he stuck around and gave me pointers while I installed it.
Clay personally called me up when I was broke down to try to help me figure out my problem. If that doesn't tell you what kinda guy and business he runs, I don't who is. You'll be happy no doubt..
I'm looking for the truck to be an animal when towing, get improved mileage, and be a blast to drive as a daily driver. Being that my stang is crazy fast I need the truck to keep up somewhat :-)
Thanks guys for all the info. As soon as I get my truck hooked up I'll post some info. I need my rig to be almost as badass as my Shelby Super Snake!
Well if you have a Shelby Super Snake then I guess the skys the limit with your budget. That is a car I can only dream to have. What year is the Shelby?
It's a 2008. The sky isn't the limit with a house, wife, and 4kids that's for sure. Im trying not to spend too much on the truck so that it wouldn't be more cost effective to buy a new one lol. I've had this truck 11 years now and I still love it, especially since it's paid off
Definitely Riff Raff over ATS and just about anyone else out there. Clay can help you get the right parts and diagnose issues as well. Plus a real nice guy.
