Hey guys I've never had a problem with my truck at all until yesterday. It has only 89k on it and thanks to you guys I do all the preventative maintenance you recommend. Well I was in a 35 mph zone and accidentally pulled out in front of somebody so I got on it pretty good so the guy wouldn't have to hit his brakes on my account and at 35 I let off. After cruising at that speed for about 300 yards it just shut off. I coasted off the road turned off the ignition and it started up like nothing was wrong. I've put 45 miles plowing and normal driving with no problem. Do you guys have any theories?
Mine did the same thing, I was told it was just at the second the tq converter was locked or unlocked that stalled the engine.
Weather thats right or not i don't know
Just another couple questions, will it throw a code from that one time? Where is the CPS? I've heard it's easy to get at but don't know where to look. Thanks again

No it won't throw a code, Front of engine, above and to the side of the crank pulley, you need a 10mm 6 point socket
yup i had the same prooblem, just driving in traffic and it quit. made it home thank god but i didnt know what it was. if you lay on the floor and look up right under your pulleys you will see the only thing with a wire on the front of the engine block. near right behind the fan. 10mm 6 point will get it out. just made sure to put some vasoline or something on the robber grommet when you put it back together to keep the moisture out.
Why not call your local Ford dealer( man, can't believe I'm telling you this) and get your CPS done under recall, they do owe your truck that. Whatever you do, order one of these Riffraff Diesel: International "Black" CPS - Original Their considered the best.
I had a similar issue( intermittent stall and rough idle) and changed my CPS and that wasn't the issue. It turned out to be the ICP for me, but I would start with CPS.
I ordered the black CPS today and I'll do it myself just because I don't want to be without the truck. I appreciate the info once again you guys are saving me money.
